Local Pros Business Network ("LPBN," "we," "us"), operated by Local Pros Business Network LLC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices you have. It applies to the LPBN website (LPBN.us), our shared postcard, directory, feedback system, newsletter, perks, events, referral program, and related online and offline services (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Account info — name, email, phone (optional), password, display preferences.
Feedback content — ratings, review text, service type, photos, vendor reviewed.
Lead submissions — name, phone, email, project notes, attachments you send to a pro.
Referral activity — referral codes, attributed leads, points and commission status.
Event & raffle activity — RSVPs, entries, winnings.
Technical data — IP address, browser, device, pages viewed, referring URL, collected via cookies and standard server logs.
Communications — messages you send us and our responses.

2. How we use your information

Operate the directory, feedback, points/tier system, perks, events, and referral program.
Forward your lead submissions to the featured pro you selected.
Send transactional emails (account, lead confirmations, feedback approvals) and, with your opt-in, our newsletter.
Moderate feedback and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
Improve the Service and produce aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. How we share your information

With the featured pro you contact — when you submit a lead, your name, contact details, and message are shared with that specific pro so they can respond. The pro is an independent business with its own privacy practices.
Public display — approved feedback may be displayed publicly with your chosen display name (you can adjust this in account settings to "first name + initial" or "anonymous").
Service providers — we use trusted third parties to host the site, send email, store data, and process analytics. They are bound to confidentiality and may not use your data for their own purposes.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred to the successor, subject to this Policy.
Legal — we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
We do not sell or "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Florida Digital Bill of Rights (FDBR), or other state privacy laws.

4. Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use limited first-party analytics cookies to understand site usage. We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may not function correctly. We honor "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable.

5. Email, SMS & CAN-SPAM

Transactional messages (account confirmations, lead notifications, moderation updates) are part of the Service and cannot be opted out of while you have an active account. Newsletters and promotional emails require your opt-in and include an unsubscribe link in every message — we honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days as required by the federal CAN-SPAM Act. SMS: By providing your phone number on a lead form, you expressly consent to receive SMS/text messages from LPBN and the selected featured pro, including via automated systems. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. See our SMS Consent Policy.

6. Data retention

We retain your account, feedback, lead, and referral data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward (generally up to 7 years) to comply with legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained indefinitely. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 8); we will fulfill the request unless retention is required by law.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, row-level database access controls, and least-privilege service accounts. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by Florida and federal law.

8. Your privacy rights

You may, at any time:

Access, correct, or update your account information from your dashboard.
Adjust how your name appears on public reviews and leaderboards.
Unsubscribe from newsletter emails using the link in any newsletter.
Reply STOP to any text to opt out of SMS.
Request a copy of, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing info@lpbn.us with the subject line "Privacy Request."

State-specific rights. Residents of Florida, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights including: the right to know/access, the right to correct, the right to delete, the right to data portability, the right to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. To exercise any state right or to appeal a denied request, email info@lpbn.us. We will respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days where allowed by law).

We do not knowingly process the personal information of anyone under 16 for sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. The Service is not directed to children under 13.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the Service.
